Hey everyone

Today, I'm thrilled to announce the release of our first product: Kid's Health Log.

You can find out more about it at the official product page here or you can go download it on the Apple App Store here.

Sorry Android users, but it's only been released on iOS so far. I'm planning on releasing an Android version in a few months.

So why Kid's Health Log?

There's a lot of health tracking apps out there, but there's really nothing else quite like Kid's Health Log. An app designed by tired busy parents for tired busy parents. An app with a laser focused user experience design to help parents keep track of the things that matter most.

We got the idea a few years ago. At the time, we had a flu going through the house and all of our kids had fevers. It was awful. We were trying to manage their symptoms as best we could using paracetamol and ibuprofen. But things got very complicated, very quickly. You see, the kids could take paracetamol every 4 hours and ibuprofen every 6 hours. And since they're different ages, each could take a different dose in millilitres of each medicine. And they woke up a different times, so they were all out of sync. So... 3 kids with 3 fevers taking 2 medicines at 2 rates with 6 different doses... and then we got sick too... it was exhausting.

So later while the kids were watching Curious George (it's our go-to show when the kids are sick), I sat at the dining table and made a tiny little app just to help us keep track of the medicines.

It was amazing.

Since then, we've carefully redesigned it and rebuilt it from the ground up. We've added countless other features that Meg and I thought of to make our lives easier.

Now, I'm so excited to be able to share it with other parents.

In fact, about a week ago, I quietly released it on the App Store just to make sure it was working before I started telling people about it. And I had a bit of a surprise, even with no marketing, parents have been finding it, downloading it, subscribing to the premium plan and using it to help them take care of their sick kids.

Honestly, it's so rewarding to have built something that's out in the world and helping people to care for the people that they love.

So what's next?

Well, release 1.0 is done and starting to generate income. But as anyone who has built products knows, 1.0 isn't the end. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, it's not even the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning. So now it's time to start carefully growing the app and the customer base.

And we're getting painfully close to releasing our second product which I'm super excited about. But I can't say more yet. If you'd like to be amongst the first to know when it's released, sign up to my newsletter here.
